Journey to Bethlehem: December Movie Night

We’re not your typical church—we meet in a movie theater, making it the perfect setting to welcome others in a comfortable and relaxed environment. If you’ve been looking for a less intimidating way to invite someone to church, this is your chance! Join us for one of two showtimes: 4:00 PM or 7:00 PM on December 6, and share some hot cocoa and the Christmas story!

December’s movie night feature is ‘Journey to Bethlehem’, a live-action Christmas musical adventure for the entire family that weaves classic Christmas melodies with humor, faith, and new songs in a retelling of the greatest story ever told: the story of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus. Rated PG, we encourage parents to check reviews on Common Sense Media or reach out to our Family Ministry Director for more details.

Our Movie Nights are always free but advance seat reservations are required. Due to the popularity of these events, we now require an individual's name to be attached to every seat reservation. If you need help completing this form, please contact our office. Popcorn, candy, and drinks are available and a freewill donation box is located nearby if you'd like to help us cover the cost of those items. Be sure to reserve your seats in advance, and take advantage of this unique opportunity to introduce someone new to Riverstone!

The 2nd Annual Great Christmas Light Race
Dec

The 2nd Annual Great Christmas Light Race

The Great Christmas Light Race is a scavenger hunt for all ages! Choose your team (whoever you can fit in your car) and get ready to race against the clock to find the most Christmas Light displays before time is up!

Here’s how it works: this scavenger hunt is app-based, which means at least one person on your team will need a smartphone with a camera to participate. The app we’re using is called “Actionbound” and is available in the iOS App Store and Google Play Store for free. If you need help finding or installing the app, Maggie and Jessi will be happy to assist you any time prior to the event!*

On the night of the race, we will all gather in our vehicles in the parking lot prior to 5:00 PM. Our race volunteers will distribute a paper flyer to each car with instructions and the QR code to scan in the Actionbound App that will connect your team to the race.

The race begins promptly at 5:00 PM! Your team will drive around town in an attempt to gather the most points for selfies or group photos taken with certain types of Christmas light displays.

Everyone should be back to the church by 6:30 PM for hot cocoa, treats, and a special devotion time led by Pastor Sam. Then it’s time for the awards ceremony and prize distribution!

We hope you’ll be able to join us for this fun Christmas event, which will take the place of a December movie night. We can’t wait to have fun and make memories together with you!

*Please note: we won’t be able to assist with app downloads the night of the event. Please make sure you ask us ahead of time so we can help you participate in The Great Christmas Light Race! Below is the Actionbound logo to help you locate the correct app:

Praise & Worship Night

Praise & Worship Night

As we approach a season full of gratitude and anticipation, we invite you to join us for a night to reset, recenter, and refuel in the presence of the Lord. This is a moment to stand together, worshiping and realigning our hearts before the busy holiday season begins. Life right now can feel heavy. We’re facing pressures on every side—our families, our health, and even our world are under strain. But we know that God is greater than any challenge we face, and through worship, we access His power and peace. Worship is how we step into God’s strength, preparing ourselves for the miracles He has in store.

On this night, we’ll be “taking our positions” in worship, lifting our voices not in worry, but in faith. Just as Jesus asked the blind man, “What do you want?” we too are invited to come before God and share the desires of our hearts in this season. Whether it's a breakthrough, healing, restored relationships, or revival, we are invited to boldly tell Him what we long for, knowing He is faithful.

Together, we’ll ask God to bring home our prodigals, heal broken relationships, restore our bodies, and ignite revival in our church, community, and nation. We offer God our hearts, our minds, and our time, trusting Him with everything we’re carrying. We know that the Holy Spirit will meet us here in an incredible way, beyond anything we could imagine. This is more than a service; it’s an invitation to lay our burdens down, open our hearts, and prepare to receive every good thing God has for us.

So come, with one heart and one voice, as we stand together in worship. Let’s tell God what we long for and praise Him as we wait, knowing that He hears us and has amazing plans for us. Don’t miss this powerful night at Riverstone—you’ll be blessed by what God has in store.
